2025 .. a New Year .. a New Beginning .. New members .. a New direction .. Hawkesbury EarthCare Centre
Henry Doubleday Research Association of Australia Inc. invites you, your friends, your family, your work colleagues, your social network - to join us as financial members for 2025.
There are some really exciting things coming up in 2025 .. classes, events, workshops and member only events. Amongst our offerings to our members, we launched a Social Club - Friends of EarthCare. Please contact Amanda Argent on 0409 513 337 if you would like more information.
We are gearing up this year to really expanding our membership and maintaining an inclusive space, so everyone feels welcome.
If you belong to another group / association / club, you can take advantage of our Affiliate Membership (all the member perks for $10).
You will notice we are expanding the community garden with new vegetable, herb gardens, flower gardens and a wide selection of fruit trees to increase the biodiversity. We have launched our Adopt-a-Plant program to help us achieve this goal. This program encourages individuals, families, community and sporting groups, educational facilities, councils and government bodies; to purchase a fruit tree OR donate some money toward a fruit tree, a plant for the native pollinator garden or a plant for the indigenous edible food forest. You choose where your money is spent.
We welcomed in Autumn with Jazz in the Garden. It was a huge success and a truly wonderful time to relax, connect with one another and listen to local jazz band The Cap Cats. This event was free for members. Our next music gig is a 'Blues and Grooves' mini fest.
This year, our members drive our workshops and events. If you have an idea or suggestion, speak to one of the committee and we will help get it going.
Suggestions to date are .. Art in Garden, Permaculture/Organic Gardening, Movies, Pizza nights, Living Skills workshops, Integrated Pest Management, Fruit Tree Guilds, Pruning, Arts & Crafts, Dam Restoration, Car Boot sale, Growing Nutrient Dense Food, Book Club, Children's Activities & Workshops, Music in Garden, Mushroom Education, Death & Dying Literacy, Social Events & Outings, and much much more.
Member perks include 'member only events', free or subsidised workshops and events, grow food in the community garden and share produce, attend social club events, enjoy our library, relax in the gardens or have a nap in the hammock, create new friendships, nurture that sense of belonging that comes with being part of a cohesive network of people, etc.
