Issue 2 spotlights the Brio with thought-provoking articles by Tristen Harwood, Jessyca Hutchens, and Maurice O’Riordan.

The Tennant Creek Brio is an artist collective working on Warumungu country, Northern Territory. The collective includes members Fabian Brown Japaljarri, Lindsay Nelson Jakamarra, Rupert Betheras, Joseph Williams Jangarrayi, Jimmy Frank Juppurla, Clifford Thompson Japaljarri and Marcus Camphoo Kemarre, among other collaborators.

Adam Ford (Nyoongar) is a writer and art historian. He is Assistant Curator, Indigenous Australian Art, at Queensland Art Gallery | Gallery of Modern Art.

Lévi McLean is an artist based between places. He is presently working with the Tennant Creek Brio, performing various roles.

Paris Lettau is a barrister, writer, and editor. He is editor-in-chief of Memo magazine.

About Memo

Since 2017, Memo Review has been Melbourne’s only platform for weekly art criticism, each Saturday morning. Memo was founded by an independent collective of arts writers and historians wanting to fill a gap in quality art criticism. In 2022, Memo expanded their reach north, publishing fortnightly reviews of exhibitions in Sydney and regional NSW. Memo publishes reviews of a broad variety of art exhibitions at public art museums, commercial galleries and smaller artist-run spaces, offering critical perspectives from a new generation of Australian art scholars, writers and artists.
