Unknown Pleasures is pleased to host the ADELAIDE PREMIERE screening of MEMORY FILM, with director Jeni Thornley flying from Sydney for a Q&A moderated by Julia Erhart (Associate Professor, Flinders University).
MEMORY FILM is a sublime and beautiful time-capsule documentary, where director Jeni Thornley has used the Super 8 medium to record her life from the mid '70s to the mid '00s, in the process capturing the revolutionary spirit of the '70s, where the women's/feminist movement made great gains in Australia.
The film is formally daring and expressive, it is a biography like no other, silent but musical, quotidian but transcendental, a reflection but also a farewell.
