Memoryscapes exhibition opening
The artist Katrina Barter invites you to the opening of her her first exhibition in over a decade.
Memoryscapes is a series of 1 x 1 metre painted works on primed and unprimed cotton, linen and jute.
Using the grid as a representation of consciousness, Barter examines memory as an intriguing and fallible aspect of our individual and collective experiences.
These abstracted translations of memory, place and time encourage contemplation on the nature of memory as something comprising elements both real and fictional, exploring the ephemeral nature of memory and how it shapes our perception of reality.
