Thanks for renting a machine- we will have one saved for you. Please bring thread (1 spool minimum) to match your project!

First of all, a big, sparkly welcome to the hottest event in town. We're thrilled you're joining us for some sewing shenanigans. If you’ve been reworking clothes this is the place to wear them. Show and tell!

Let Staci, at fashionrebelsrock@gmail.com, know all the details about your fabulous projects ahead of time, so she can bring tools and tidbits that might fuel your creative brilliance from her stash of sewing supplies. Got your own sewing machine? Bring it! We want you to learn on a machine you can practice on at home. Got any sewing experience under that fashionable belt? Let her know.

Now, let's talk about something serious –Since it's a free party, and space is hotter than July in Colorado, you’ll want to confirm your seat by dropping Staci that note. This is so she doesn’t give your seat away to anyone who drops in unannounced. It happens more than you would think. If something comes up and you can’t make it, please cancel your order & let Staci know at least three days before class. That way there is a good chance someone can take your spot, and we won’t ask you to pay a “missing designer fee.” This fee is a $40 donation you make to the Firehouse if you don't show or even drop a note. It’s an honor system to keep the sewing love flowing. We're all in this sewing journey together, so, let's make sure everyone gets their chance to shine. Back to the glitter and stitches.

Staci will have sewing kits on hand for the newbies, but here's a checklist if you plan to bring your own:

Glasses: If you wear them, you’ll need them.

Clothes to rework: Medium-weight woven fabrics are the easiest place to start.

Thread: Polyester, so it doesn't shrink.

Pattern or garment: So you’ll have a plan to work from!

Scissors: Sturdy sharp ones – dedicated to fabric only.

Pins: Quilting pins, silk pins and sewing clips work best.

Clear Rulers: A small one under 12" and a large one 2" x 24"

Pencil & Eraser: For pattern drafting.

Soap, roller style pen or fabric markers: To mark your fabric.

Sewing machine needles: Regular, denim, stretch, and double will cover your bases.

Hand sewing needles: For hems and details.

Bobbins: Make sure they match your sewing machine.

Seam ripper and/or snips: A necessary evil in the world of stitches.

Pin cushion: Magnetic for easy clean up.

Tape measure: Because size matters.

A few scraps: Because you can never have too many test stiches.

She loves capturing and showing off your fabulous accomplishments in bite-sized clips. Camera-shy? No problem! Just give her a wink, and she’ll aim her phone elsewhere. And don’t worry, she’ll always check with you if it’s OK to post before any footage of you goes viral!
