    Event description

Join us for this FREE mending class series, sponsored by the District Department of Energy and Environment.

    Summary

This workshop will be led by Motormouth, a creative platform facilitating projects and spaces to encourage collaboration and community.✨

MotorMouth has experience in upcycling and making unique clothing pieces, so we want to share sewing knowledge and encourage people to be open to creative solutions.
This sewing workshop will focus on mending clothes through both machine and hands-on solutions. We will explore darning, tailoring to your size, and other mending techniques. Materials will be provided (fabrics, thread, needles, machine to use). Please let us know if you’d like to bring your own machine. Feel free to bring any clothes you have to mend!

    Upcoming workshops:

Week 2: Darning/ Reweaving socks and other holes

Week 3: Patchwork/Fixing rips, tears, and stains

    ----

This event has priority registration for those who live in public housing or are low-income. IF there is space available in the workshop 48 before its scheduled time, we will release additional tickets for those who do not fall into a priority group.

This project was supported through the Donation and Reuse Program with funding provided by the District of Columbia Department of Energy and Environment.
