    Event description

    Mending and Repair Workshop Series

    With Fiona a textile artist who sparks joy by reusing and repairing clothing and sharing these skills with others.

    We will be repurposing, reusing and repairing existing materials, therefore reducing waste to landfill and keeping textiles in circularity.

    So, come and learn from an expert how to repair and mend your clothing!

    Across these three workshops we will learn how to;

    - sew a button

    - adjust a hem

    - patch a tear and strengthen worn areas of a garment

    - make a sew on/iron on patch to cover a stain or tear

    Participants are encouraged to bring two items of clothing that needs repairing. As the most sustainable form of clothing is what is already in your wardrobe!

    Please book in to a free workshop time that suits you, we have three on offer.

    1) Thursday 16 May | 10:30am-12:30pm

    2) Saturday 1 June | 10:30am-12:30pm

    3) Thursday 6 June | 10:30am-12:30pm

    Fiona will kindly assess suitability of the garment, and if this isn't possible in the workshop you will receive advice for the best way to mend it. We are not able to repair woollen and knitted jumpers in this workshop context.

    We can't wait for you to join us, these workshops are entry level with no prior knowledge required, although people with sewing experience are most welcome.
