Mending Matters
Event description
mending matters
Tuesday, March 4th | 6 PM | Our Lady of the Snows | $5
In this class, students will learn two hand-mending techniques to repair clothes, blankets, and other fabric items. Using a needle, thread, and yarn, you’ll master Sashiko and darning methods to fix holes and worn areas. This class is perfect for anyone looking to mend by hand without a sewing machine. By the end, you'll have the skills to mend your fabric items for years.
Isy Holt started embroidering and mending her clothes a year ago. She dived into the field head first with a practice embroidery kit and an insatiable curiosity of “Well what else can I do!?” and hasn’t put down a needle and thread since. She’s been living and working at Alta for 10 consecutive winters and river guiding throughout the Rocky Mountains when the snow melts.
