Presented by WHISE and Sexual Health Victoria for Menopause Awareness Month 2026

Perimenopause and menopause affect approximately half the population, yet many clinicians report limited formal training in menopause care. Patients frequently experience delayed diagnosis, inconsistent management and difficulty accessing knowledgeable, evidence-based support.

To mark Menopause Awareness Month 2026, WHISE and Sexual Health Victoria are partnering to deliver a 90-minute professional development webinar designed to strengthen the knowledge, confidence and clinical capability of health professionals providing menopause care.

Featuring clinicians and specialists from Sexual Health Victoria, this webinar will explore contemporary, evidence-based approaches to recognising, assessing and managing perimenopause and menopause across primary care and allied health settings.

The session will support clinicians to provide high-quality care and navigate appropriate referral pathways for more complex presentations.

Learning outcomes

By the end of the session, participants will be able to:

Recognise the clinical features and stages of perimenopause and menopause, including variability in presentation.
Conduct a structured, holistic and patient-centred menopause consultation.
Understand hormonal and non-hormonal management options, including indications, benefits and contraindications for menopausal hormone therapy (MHT).
Address sexual and reproductive health considerations, including contraception and genitourinary syndrome of menopause (GSM).

Dr Kate Robertson

Dr Kate Robertson (she/her) is a General Practitioner and Medical Educator. She is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and has a Diploma in Child Health and a Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Kate has worked in various rural and metropolitan healthcare settings. She uses this experience to help tailor learning to participant's needs, with the overall aim of helping people to receive equitable sexual and reproductive healthcare throughout Australia.

Dr Suzanne Pearson

Dr Suzanne Pearson (she/her) is a General Practitioner and Senior Medical Educator who brings her enthusiasm for education and training to health professionals. She is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and has a Graduate Certificate in Clinical Teaching. Suzanne coordinates the Sexual and Reproductive Health Australia National Certificate for Doctors course and Implanon NXT train the trainer courses. Suzanne has authored articles, such as "LARC: New evidence to guide clinical practice," published in the RACGP's Australian Journal of General Practice.
