Menopause Over Martinis* in Hataitai

Menopause/te ruahinetanga is a normal, natural and inevitable stage of a
woman’s life. Yet it’s a stage of life that isn’t often talked about.

Menopause Over Martinis* in Hataitai is an opportunity to get together with friends, family, colleagues and neighbours over dinner and a martini or mocktail. To talk, laugh and learn about the various stages of menopause - the little-known facts, the surprising realities, and the potentially manageable and sometimes unmanageable symptoms. It's a time to celebrate the many wins that come with life beyond menopause too.

You might not have any symptoms yet, you might be in the thick of it or you might be out the other side. You might be supporting someone else. You don’t need to be an expert in women’s hormones or health, and you don’t need to drink martinis*. The most important thing is that we share, learn from and support each other - in confidence and with respect for each other’s experiences, approaches and philosophies. We'd love people of all ages and stages to join the fun!

Tickets include pre-dinner nibbles, dinner, dessert and one martini or mocktail. There will be a chance to win a bunch of prizes too!

There will be a number of tables and you'll be able to choose where you sit. It's an advantage though to have a mix of different ages/stages at every table - to share the knowledge between generations!

One dinner table at a time, I’m sure we can help make this subject less taboo.

* Martinis obviously optional. You can choose between one martini or mocktail on arrival. Additional martinis, wine, beer and non-alcoholic drinks will be available for cash sale throughout the evening - proudly supported by Hataitai’s very own Micro-Brewery and bar, Waitoa Social Club.

Food provided throughout the evening will be vegan with gluten-free options. Should you have any other specific catering requirements please let us know when booking.

This is a community event and R18. Any funds raised from this event will
support the redevelopment of the Hataitai Centre (former Hataitai
Bowling Club).
