From Overwhelm to Ease: A Mind-Body Workshop for Menopause and Beyond
Menopause can feel stressful in itself - managing changes to our body, navigating relationships at home and at work, and facing the challenges of modern-day living. Physical symptoms like hot flushes and night sweats can intensify this stress, and anxiety can amplify these symptoms, making them feel even more overwhelming and harder to manage. While anxiety is a normal response to perceived danger, it becomes disruptive when we start interpreting everyday situations as threatening. This tendency becomes more pronounced under chronic stress.
When we feel under threat, our bodies trigger a stress response—releasing adrenaline and cortisol, sending more oxygen to our muscles, quickening our breath, and making us feel tense. This is the body’s natural fight-or-flight mechanism, which helped protect us in the past from real physical danger. But today’s stress is often mental or emotional, and without a physical release, we can end up feeling constantly on edge.
When stress builds, it also becomes harder to look after ourselves, and leading a healthy lifestyle becomes more difficult. Many of us crave sugary or processed foods or lose the motivation to exercise. That’s why this workshop offers a gentle yet powerful way to pause, reset and reconnect with your body and mind.
Sharron and Sadie will create a calming and grounding space to connect with yoga techniques which will generate a sense of balance in your life as you travel through menopause and beyond, along with wellness reflections to connect your mind with your overall health and wellbeing.
