Menopause at Work: the conversation we all need to have
Description
It affects around half the population, and is still far too often treated as something women should simply put up with.
To mark World Menopause Day, Gender at Work is hosting a candid and insightful session with health journalist, author and women’s health expert Niki Bezzant.
Niki will cut through the myths, awkwardness and misinformation around menopause and ask a bigger question: what would work look like if we actually understood menopause?
This will be an honest, lively and practical conversation about what happens during perimenopause and menopause, how symptoms can affect work and wellbeing, and why menopause is a workplace issue, not just a women’s health issue. We’ll explore what individuals, colleagues and leaders can do to make work more supportive, inclusive and menopause-friendly.
Come with your questions, your curiosity and perhaps a few assumptions ready to be challenged. Expect an honest, practical and engaging conversation covering everything from symptoms and health to workplace culture, support and what a genuinely menopause-friendly workplace can look like. There’ll be plenty of opportunity to ask questions and get the conversation going.
Whether you’re experiencing menopause yourself, supporting someone who is, or simply want to understand more, this is a conversation everyone can benefit from.
