Why should you come to this workshop?

Around 1 in 8 men will experience depression and 1 in 5 men will experience anxiety.
The complexity of this problem stems from various factors. Even though there are growing initiatives to make conversations about mens mental health and emotions more commonplace, admitting to not feeling entirely well or facing mental health challenges is still stigmatised. This stigma causes people to be reluctant to display vulnerability or perceived weakness. Society often upholds the notion that men should be tough and self-sufficient, suppressing their emotions, which only heightens the hesitation to seek assistance or communicate their feelings openly.

This workshop is a space for you to come to express yourself fully & connect with your mind & body through breathwork & cold water therapy in the safety of a small mens only space. When we have tools & vices to freely express our inner world, we are less inclined to lean towards other unhealthy vices to cope with any negative mental & emotional feelings.

When we use specific breathing techniques, it helps us to move oxygen throughout the body, which helps us become more present in the body, noticing sensations and becoming attuned to what we are physically holding onto in our muscles and tissues.

What to expect:

Guided Breathwork Session: Harness the power of your breath! When we breathe deeply and consciously we are able to connect to ourselves more deeply, with others more deeply and with the world around us more deeply. When we use specific breathing techniques, it helps us to move oxygen throughout the body, which helps us become more present in the body, noticing sensations and becoming attuned to what we are physically holding onto in our muscles and tissues. When we pair breathing techniques with sound, movement & bodywork we create a space where we are able to release the energy we have been holding onto in our system, while cultivating more feelings of peace, calm & clarity. All while building your your carbon dioxide tolerance and improving your oxygen intake.
Ice Bath Immersion: Experience the invigorating benefits of cold therapy with an ice bath. Build mental resilience by putting good stress on your body & teaching your system how to quickly shift from a stress response into a rest & digest response, increase blood flow, increase testostorone, burn calories, increase white cell count, improve sleep and reduce inflammation.

The session will run for approximately 2 hours and will be held at a beautiful private studio nestled amongst nature in Metung. Address details will be provided upon booking.
