Event description

Hybrid Event - Mental Health & Applying for the NDIS Workshop: How to get the best outcome for someone with psychosocial support needs.

Navigating the NDIS for mental health support can be a complex, overwhelming and confusing process. It is difficult to decide what evidence to provide and how to do so that the NDIS truly understands the person’s needs.

Here at ARC, we have extensive experience navigating the NDIS for people with psychosocial support needs and overcoming the unique challenges that can arise. As a 100% lived experienced team, we also understand the impact navigating the NDIS can have on someone’s mental and emotional well-being and how to support someone appropriately through this journey. We are keen to share this expertise with others and help you achieve success in accessing and navigating the NDIS for people living with significant mental and emotional distress.

Our Program Manager and training lead Pieter has extensive experience supporting people to test their eligibility for the NDIS. His experience has involved overseeing over 400 psychosocial NDIS applications with a success rate of around 80% on the first application. In the workshop, Pieter will share simple ways and tools to work through this process and give those we support the best chance they can to access the NDIS.

This heartfelt workshop will be co-facilitated by Megan, someone who has personally walked the NDIS journey herself and deeply understands the emotional and mental toll it can take. Through compassionate insights, Megan will shed light on what truly helps and what can inadvertently harm individuals navigating the NDIS application journey. In this safe and supportive space, Megan will share valuable insights on how to provide the best support to someone during what can be a challenging and anxiety provoking. Let's come together to learn, support, and positively impact each other's journeys.
