Speakers: Professor Charlotte Hespe and Reverend Kate Snell

Professor Charlotte Hespe

Charlotte Hespe is a clinical GP and the Head of General Practice and Primary Care Research for the Sydney School of Medicine. Her academic role is dual Teaching and Research, with her Heading up the Discipline of General Practice and establishing and overseeing a research network specialising in General Practice specific projects in primary care. She is also an active GP Clinician and Practice Owner of a medium-sized general practice in Inner City Sydney Her clinic is a leading general practice in Central and Eastern Sydney and won RACGP Practice of the Year, NSW/ACT in 2018. Prof Hespe is passionate about improving health outcomes for both the patients in her personal care and within the broader context of the Australian Community. To this end, she has been actively involved with the RACGP, GP Networks, Medical Education (through undergraduate, postgraduate and Registrar student teaching) and GP research throughout her career. She has completed a PhD on “Implementing quality improvement strategies in real-world general practice- a study focused on cardiovascular disease”.

Her current research and clinical projects include topics for improving health outcomes in Cardiovascular health, Women's health, respiratory diseases, renal disease, type 2 Diabetes Mellitus and cancer (prevention and management).

Reverend Kate Snell

Kate serves as Dean of Students at Mary Andrews College. She loves teaching women theology and seeing them grow in their faith and ability to serve the Lord. She has previously been a High School Teacher and Chaplain. She is married to Brian who is also a minister and together they have two young daughters. Kate has a Bachelor of Theology, a Graduate Diploma of Teaching and recently completed her Masters of Arts (Theology) at Moore College.

The Institute provides biblically and psychologically informed training and resources about mental health and healthy relationships for churches and individuals.
