Mapu Mia is bringing an essential, community-focused initiative to Gen Innes Library as part of Mental Health Awareness Week.
This session creates a supportive space to talk openly about the issues that often carries heavy stigma, connecting mental wellbeing directly to gambling harm prevention.
Core Focus of the Session:
Understanding Mental Health: Exploring how gambling harm triggers severe stress, anxiety, depression and social isolation while discussing practical ways to protect mental wellbeing.
Whānau & Community Awareness: Engaging participants with clear information, practical guidance and activities designed to break down shame and open up constructive kōrero.
Connecting to Support: Guiding individuals and families to free, confidential and culturally responsive services.
