Mental Health Education Session for Parents and Carers of Year 12 Students

Headspace and the Our Lady of Mercy College Wellbeing team would like to invite you to attend a Mental Health Education session for Parents and Carers of Year 12 students preparing to leave school.
When: Â Monday, 26 August 2024
Time: Â 5pm
Where: Â Learning Commons - UF
For Who: Year 12 Parents.
(Please note: These sessions are not suitable for young people to attend.)
This interactive session will cover:
- Understanding how transitions and change can impact the mental health and wellbeing of young people.
- Common responses and concerns related to leaving school.
- Noticing the signs when a young person might be going through a tough time.
- Identifying strategies to connect and communicate with your young person during this time.
- Increasing knowledge about how to support a young person and where to access professional support.
We hope you can join us for this important and informative session. Your participation will provide practical strategies to help you support your child during this significant transition period.
The College will provide some light refreshments after the presentation, which will be an opportunity to engage with other parents and share experiences.
