The MHFA Workplace is in an online format & involves 2 course components.

Component 1 - A self-paced eLearning component (takes 5 hours to complete). This component must be completed before attending the Zoom session.

Component 2 - Consists of a 5 hour Instructor-led Zoom session.

Includes coordinating the eLearning access, MHFA Learner Access Pass, a MHFA manual being posted to you and Dianne facilitating the 5 hour Zoom session.

The online Workplace Mental Health First Aid course teaches adults how to provide initial support to adults who are developing a mental illness or experiencing a mental health crisis.

Course participants learn about the signs and symptoms of the common and disabling mental health problems, how to provide initial help, where and how to get professional help, what sort of help has been shown by research to be effective, and how to provide first aid in a crisis situation.

Mental health problems covered • Depression • Anxiety problems • Psychosis • Substance use problems Mental health crises covered • Suicidal thoughts and behaviours • Non-suicidal self-injury • Panic attacks • Traumatic events • Severe psychotic states • Severe effects from alcohol or other drug use • Aggressive behaviours.

Any interested adult can attend. Please note this course is not a therapy or support group, rather it is an education course to learn how to give first aid to others.
