Mental Health in the Northern Rivers: Care and collaboration in Northern NSW
Event description
This one day workshop will bring together mental health professionals across Northern NSW to discuss current issues pertaining to families seeking support across government and the non-government sector.
Mental health professionals, 9am-4:00pm
Presentations by:
- Sydney Children’s Hospital Network: Emotional distress and mental illness
- Northern NSW Local Health District: Who needs mental health care? Acute emotional distress. Overview of Safeguards in Northern NSW Local Health District
- Healthy North Coast: Healthy north coast, stepped care and the emerging themes of the Norther Rivers.
- Headspace: Enhanced headspace and social futures
- IAR-DST Training: Building a common language for mental health referrals
In the second half of the afternoon, we welcome families wishing to learn about mental health supports available in Northern NSW.
Parents and Carers 3:40pm-6:30pm.
