Mental Health Matters with Australian Red Cross

Mental Health Matters is a face-to-face, interactive workshop which provides community memebers with an awareness of mental health concerns and the knowledge to give appropriate initial help and support to someone experiencing a mental health issue.

Community members learn to recognise and respond to mental health concerns from a professional mental health trainer with 16 years' experience. The trainer has experience across the fields of mental health, emotional intelligence, resilience and crisis support skill set training.

Key Outcomes:

Gain an understanding of mental health
Gain an understanding of how to recognise and support mental health issues
Understand risk factors for mental health concerns
Understand evidence-based medical, psychological and alternative supports
Skills to provide initial help and support to someone experiencing a mental health concern
How to take appropriate action if a crisis arises
