    Event description

Join us on 10 April for a special event on multicultural mental health. The event will reflect on ECCV’s Mental Health & Wellbeing Engagement of Diverse Communities project and the impact it's had on multicultural communities and the mental health workforce. We're pleased to be joined by the Minister for Mental Health, Multicultural Affairs & Ageing Ingrid Stitt MP and the Member for Pasco Vale Anthony Cianflone MP, who will launch the next phase of this important project.

The project has highlighted the importance of building the capacity of mental health service providers, community and health organisations as well as stakeholders in non-health settings to effectively respond to the mental health needs of multicultural communities in a culturally safe, responsive, and inclusive way. Read more about ECCV's mental health work here.

The event will also feature a roundtable to discuss the ongoing work of the multicultural sector to strengthen the mental health and wellbeing of our diverse communities. We will hear from a range of speakers at the roundtable including:

    • Mo Elrafihi, ECCV CEO
    • Eddie Micallef, ECCV Chairperson
    • Ingrid Stitt MP, Minister for Mental Health, Multicultural Affairs & Ageing
    • Anthony Cianflone MP, Member for Pascoe Vale
    • Dr Judy Tang, Clinical Neuropsychologist at Invictus Health, Victorian Multicultural Commissioner and Chair of ECCV's Multicultural Mental Health Network
    • Josef Szwarc, Policy & Research Manager at Foundation House and member of ECCV's Multicultural Mental Health Network

All attendees are invited to take part in the roundtable, which will be an opportunity to share your ideas about how to improve multicultural mental health with key influencers and leaders in the sector.
