Event description

Join multi-sport athlete, coach and badass, Sam Manson when he joins us at Further Faster to talk all things racing and his mental toolkit.

Sam shares the secrets he uses during the Coast to Coast to keep him moving through all the challenges thrown at him from the start to the finish line. Beginning with the training days that are months before the race, all the way to the race day itself. Not to forget, how does he manage the increased suffering near the end, when he is so close to the finish line?
What goes through his head, and how does he manage it? Sam has ten years of Coast to Coast 1-day elite racing experience and plenty of stories to tell.

Having experienced the highs and lows of multi-sport and adventure racing, Sam will share his insights on dealing with the aftermath when things don't go to plan. He also has some entertaining situations from team racing in China that helped develop some of his mental skills today.

Sam has been a top 10 finisher in the C2C longest day eight times, including 2x 2nd places and will be competing in the C2C longest day for the 9th time in 2023 with the plan to win. He is a core member of Team Topsport Kayaking and sponsored by Scott Running NZ.
