Mermaid/Shark Tail Blanket Sewing Workshop

Sew fun for kids! is a place to learn all about sewing while making fun projects that you can take home and treasure.

In this fun school holiday workshop you will learn how to make a gorgeous cuddly blanket sleeping bag. You also have the option to make a mini version for a doll or teddy.

This workshop is suitable for boys and girls aged 7 and up.

This is a Level 1 workshop. You must have experience using a sewing machine. We recommend that you have previously attended a sewing class or workshop.

In this workshop you will learn to:

- sew straight lines

- sew curved lines

- applique

- sew with decorative stitches.

We have two versions to choose from:

- a mermaid blanket

- a shark blanket.

Please select which project you would like to create when booking your tickets.

Each child will have a sewing machine to learn at and all fabrics and accessories are included. 

You will need to bring along a packed morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and water bottle. Please do not include any food items that contain nuts or traces of nuts.

Sew fun for kids! accepts Service NSW Creative Kids vouchers.

If you would like to use a voucher, select the Creative Kids voucher ticket and make a payment of $100. You will also be required to enter:

- the voucher number

- your child's name

- your child's date of birth.

All of these details are required for me to register your voucher.

If you are redeeming a gift certificate of $100, please select the gift certificate ticket and make a payment of $50.

A minimum of 4 children are required for the workshop to go ahead. There will be a maximum of 8 children in the workshop.


This workshop runs from 9am to 4pm at 4/31 Terminus St, Castle Hill. Our studio has an internal toilet so children do not need to leave the studio during the day.

Please note, we are unable to provide a refund if a cancellation is made less than two weeks prior to the workshop as we will have purchased all of the fabrics and accessories for your child. If you are unable to attend we are very happy to provide you with the fabric kit and pattern instructions for you to pick up from the studio.
