Merri Merri Cycling Group - June

Event description

Our Merri Merri Cycling Group is an opportunity to enjoy some of Naarm's beautiful cycling routes during the Biderap and Iuk seasons (Dry Season and Eel Season).

Join fellow cyclists at NECCHI's Newlands Neighbourhood House on the third Sunday of each month for morning tea, before we set out for a morning of relaxed riding and nice scenery! Cycling routes will be well sign-posted, with plenty of opportunities for breaks. Our Merri Merri Cycling Group is a family-friendly program, and is suited to people with varying abilities and experience. Our aim is to have fun and enjoy the areas around Naarm made accessible by cycling.

Led by our volunteer facilitator Mitch (they/them), we encourage people to ride together at a comfortable pace. The routes will be suited to adaptive cyclists, such as those using trikes, handcycles, and recumbent bikes, and will primarily stay within low-traffic and traffic-free areas. Riding surfaces will feature a combination of cement and compacted gravel paths. If you have any questions or concerns about access, or you'd like to participate but you don't currently have access to a bike, please email programs@necchi.org and we can work something out!
