Merry Queermas
Event description
Merry Queermas - Christmas how it should be!
Join us on June 6th at A Rolling Stone from 7 PM until late for a night of silly outfits, great music (curtesy of DJs WAEWAEXPRESS and ZAC), mulled wine and cocktails. Bring your best (or worst) seasonal outfit and let those bells jingle.
We can't promise Mariah Carey will be there, but all WE want for Queermas is YOU anyway!
Tickets are $15 (waged) and $10 (unwaged) and there's an option to pay it forward. Limited door sales available - doors close at 10pm.
If you want to party like it's the Last Christmas but don't have the means, flick us a message and we'll see what we can do :)
***Accessibility, Safety & Support***
Our events are spaces where all queer people- takatāpui, POC, disabled, neurodivergent, questioning, and everyone in between - deserve to feel safe, seen, and celebrated. If anything feels off, our team is here to help.
While the venue has gendered toilets, we encourage everyone to use the bathroom they feel most comfortable with. An accessible toilet is also available- please be mindful of others’ access needs.
***Accessibility
The entire event space is on one level, with no steps, making it fully accessible for wheelchair and mobility aid users. Accessible toilets are available on site. Seating is provided both inside and outside A Rolling Stone, with several areas to rest throughout the venue. If you have additional access needs, please get in touch—we’ll do our best to support you.
***Safety & Support Team
Our Safety & Support Team will be stationed at the event entrance. They’re here to assist with:
> Finding a quiet space if you need a break
> Supporting accessibility needs during the event
> Helping you find a spot away from the crowd
> Guiding you to accessible viewing areas if needed
***Sensory Considerations
Please note: the event includes flashing lights and loud music, including occasional sudden sounds. If you are sensitive to these, this may not be the right environment for you.
***Getting to the Venue
Public Transport: The closest bus stop is on Colombo St (routes 8 & 44), outside South City. The footpath leads directly into A Rolling Stone.
Parking & Drop-Off: There are various car parks outside and around A Rolling Stone, the car park is on one level and easy to traverse with no steps into the building.
***Contact & Feedback
If you have specific access needs or require support before or during the event, contact us at: contact@chchpride.co.nz
We welcome feedback on how we can improve accessibility and inclusivity for future events.
