Mesos Trio

The Mesos Trio are a Sydney based modern folk-jazz ensemble featuring Susi Bishop, Elsen Price and Maharshi Raval. 

With their debut self-titled release in July 2025, the group pulls together inspiration from modern jazz, European folk and Indian classical music, to create unique music which at the same time symbolises unity and community.

Susie Bishop is well known and well regarded within the Australian folk scene, literally growing up within the folk festival community, with many performances and collaborations with Australia and the world's leading folk artists. Susie also performs alongside some of Australia's leading jazz musicians including Matt Mcmahon and Matt Keegan.

Maharshi Raval is one of Australia's premiere Indian classical tabla players. Before migrating to Australia 20+ years ago, Maharshi performed alongside many well regarded Indian classical musicians in India. Since relocating to Australia, Maharshi has a lengthy list of recordings and performances, with many performances with some of Australia's leading classical, jazz and folk musicians, plus performing with touring Indian classical musicians.

Elsen Price has been an in-demand multi-genre double bassist since 2008, when he relocated from rural NSW to work in the NSW Police Band at 18 years old. Since then, Elsen has performed alongside the likes of Josh Groban, Mike Patton, Lee Ranaldo, Shahram Nazeri, Alireza Ghourbani, Adnaan Karim, Sydney Symphony, Dave Panichi Big Band, Chris Stout and Catriona Mckay. Elsen has also been a consistent part of the Sydney jazz community, with weekly performances with some of Sydney and Australia's leading jazz musicians.
