Event description
Metropolitan Symphony - Gardens of Aranjuez - Autumn 2025
Yi-Yun Loei with the Metropolitan Symphony.
Experience a breath-taking moment in history as MetSO artist and harp virtuoso Yi-Yun Loei presents the Western Australian premiere of Joaquin Rodrigo’s Concierto de Aranjuez for Harp and Orchestra. This spellbinding masterpiece originally written for guitar was re-imagined for the luminous strings of the harp in 1974 by the composer himself. Step into nature, romance and enchantment as Yi-Yun breathes new life into this iconic work. A transcendental experience not to be missed.
Plus, the magic of Mendelssohn’s Overture to “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” and Beethoven’s expansive Symphony no. 6, an inspirational work bursting with lyricism and vibrant colour that captures the rich soundscapes of nature.
Led by dynamic MetSO conductor Izaak Wesson.
