John Spiers and Jon Boden arrived on the folk scene in the UK at the start of the new millennium, fresh faces in a music community still dominated by names from the folk revival of the 1960s.

They quickly established themselves with a clutch of BBC Folk Award wins that put them at the forefront of a new generation of folk stars. They went on to form Bellowhead, one of the most successful UK folk bands of the past fifty years, smashing expected sales records for folk music and signing to major label, Universal, causing a hiatus for the duo. The returned with new album Fallow Ground in 2021 caused much excitement and media attention. Their well-known on-stage synergy endures and thrives, with an intuitive musical understanding that is as joyful as it is adept.
