Project Sunrise is excited to share our events for this year’s Mental Health Awareness Week, which begin this weekend and go on throughout the month!

This year’s theme is Belonging Matters and encourages people to focus on small, everyday moments of connection that foster a genuine sense of inclusion.

9am · Seven Hills Cafe, Takapuna
Our monthly men’s-only meet-up kicks off the week with honest chats and warm drinks.
12–18 Oct · Project Sunrise Bingo is back!

Weds 14 Oct · Rise ’n’ Stride
6.15am · Meet outside Takapuna Beach Cafe
Our all-paces run club. Run or walk for 30 minutes, then a cold swim at 7am, a hot drink and a chance to connect. Dogs welcome.

10am · Columbus Coffee, Rosedale
Friendly, low-pressure chats at an accessible venue.
Fri 16 Oct · Sip ’n’ Stroll
7am · Meet outside Takapuna Beach Cafe
Our casual beach walk with a hot drink. Dogs welcome.
Fri 16 Oct · Sunset Stroll
5pm · Maungawhau Mt Eden
Meet at the car park by the roundabout at the base of the maunga. Walk up for sunset. Dogs welcome.
Sun 18 Oct · Sunday Lunch
12pm · The Postman’s Leg, Glenfield
Join Richard and Dean to connect, find community and celebrate MHAW. Free meals for children under 12. Dog friendly.
Sat 24 Oct · Reflection & Connection Workshop
1.30pm–3.30pm · Seven Hills Cafe, Takapuna · Koha donation
A women’s-only workshop with Vicki Tyler. Explore our human need for connection through an awakening quiz, reflection, science and stories. Discover ways to connect more, and decorate “Wonder boxes” to take away and use.

We run weekly events around Tāmaki Makaurau/Auckland, ranging from free walks to mindfulness workshops and gentle exercises, all in a pitch-free, no-expectation environment.
