Mickey & Michelle are a harp and fiddle duo whose energetic and virtuosic performances have captivated audiences across Australia and New Zealand. Their original music blends Celtic traditions with classical interplay, rich vocal harmonies and fiery improvisation, creating a unique and captivating style of ‘chamber-folk’.
Their story began in 2019, when they set off to walk the length of New Zealand along the 3000km Te Araroa trail. Over six months, they hiked from Cape Reinga to Bluff, performing in village halls, living rooms, churches, folk festivals and even on a ferry. Along the way, they discovered that folk music is as much about community and connection as it is about the music itself.
Years of touring, hiking and collaboration have continued to shape their sound. With harp and fiddle at the heart of their performances, Mickey & Michelle move effortlessly between intricate instrumentals and heartfelt songs, from moments of pin-drop quiet to explosive intensity.
