This event has passed Register

Event description

Learn how to cook authentic Middle Eastern dishes from the ingredients in your kitchen.

Hadas Ore, food anthropologist and Kai Conscious cook, is hosting two four-week blocks of classes on Monday and Tuesday evenings throughout May and June. Classes will teach valuable kitchen skills and low-budget, healthy meals using seasonal ingredients and fragrant spices. Come learn about the culture, traditions and food of the Middle East and bring your midweek cooking to life!

Classes are based on a cook, eat and enjoy philosophy, so you’ll go home with a full belly and leftovers.

Monday sessions are aimed at adult cooks, whilst Tuesdays are specially designed for caregivers and rangatahi cooking together. There’s a cap of 12 people per class and a four-week block costs just $15 p/p.

  • Mondays in May - 12 adults capacity
  • Tuesdays in May - 6 family tickets capacity (caregiver and rangatahi pairs)
  • Mondays in June - 12 adults capacity
  • Tuesdays in June - 6 family tickets capacity (caregiver and rangatahi pairs)

You’ll learn different recipes depending on whether you attend the first block of classes in May or the second block of classes in June, so make sure to register for both blocks for double the deliciousness.

This initiative is proudly funded by Love Food Hate Waste and Auckland Council.
