Event description

Celebrate Children's Week and NSW Aboriginal Languages Week at Midjuburi: Unearth with Play Day!

This fantastic, free family event promises a day filled with fun for children and their families, featuring:

  • Brolga Dance Academy performance and workshop
  • Entertainment by Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander educator & performer, Ryka Ali
  • Exciting chance to learn Dharawal language with Gujaga Foundation 
  • Inner West Council's Waste Busters team: making waste fun
  • Inner West Council Libraries robotics activity
  • Free gelato, coffee and sausage sizzle
  • Games and craft activities
  • Magic Yellow Bus mobile playgroup
  • Storytime, singalong and a visit from the Paint Inner West REaD mascots, Garranga Bumarri and Gadi!
  • Soccer sessions (for ages 6-12)
  • Native seed planting 

It's a perfect opportunity to come together, play, and celebrate children's rights while honouring the traditional languages of this land.

Please Note: We encourage visitors to travel to this event using public transport and bring their own water bottles.
