Midnight Chicken and JB Paterson at Petersham Bowlo

JB Paterson is a roving blue-collar songwriter and producer. Inspired by traditional folk & blues music, appropriating ancient melodies with a strong focus on lyrics performed on guitar and piano. Compared to songwriters Neil Young, Townes Van Zandt and Bob Dylan. JB Paterson is touring with banjo player Rebecca Cunningham bringing JB’s acclaimed songwriting to life as a duo. Their live shows are a journey in songwriting, rich with musicianship, storytelling, and plenty of stage banter in between.

Hatched and hand-raised in Newcastle, Midnight Chicken are making waves in Australia’s bluegrass and country scenes. Known for their bizarre take on bluegrass, they deliver standout renditions of traditional tunes alongside captivating originals. Since forming, they’ve performed at major festivals like Woodford, graced some of Australia’s biggest regional theatres and toured their debut album. Individually, members have worked with icons such as Kasey Chambers, Greg Sheehan, Phil Emmanuel, and Gina Jeffries. Their debut album was featured on ABC Country radio.

Under 18s are welcome at the Petersham Bowling Club but must be accompanied by an adult at all times. No under 18s are to enter the bar area.

Getting to The PBC! Access to the club and main stage is via 12 stairs at the front of the venue. We are not wheelchair accessible currently but we are working on it! There is free, untimed parking on the avenue and Brighton Street and drop off / pick up is available via our driveway.
