MIDNIGHT CHICKEN - Album tour
w/ special guest Kay Proudlove

FRIDAY 4th APRIL - 6pm
Live at The Servo, Port Kembla.

Midnight Chicken
Kay Proudlove

Midnight Chicken's debut album release tour! Recorded over 4 days in the foothills of Tamborine Mountain by JB Paterson (a stunning songwriter himself), Midnight Chicken are incredibly proud of this album which features the songwriting of all five members of the band. They cannot wait to share these songs and celebrate the album's release with audiences all over NSW on this tour. Just a few days after its release, the self-titled album got picked up to be featured on ABC Country radio. Midnight Chicken are stoked to be joined by Kay Proudlove; Wollongong's own indie-folk singer-songwriter for this show.

Hatched and hand raised in Newcastle NSW, Midnight Chicken are quickly becoming a hot topic in the bluegrass and country circuits around Australia. Their bizarre take on bluegrass music gives birth to amazing renditions of traditional tunes and old classics as well as more modern tunes and originals that are sure to be enjoyed by everyone. In their short time as a band, they have toured nationally supporting Brad Cox, performing in some of the country’s biggest regional theatres and played at the National Folk Festival. Individually, they have played with some of the country’s greats in the folk/country world including names such as Kasey Chambers, Phil Emmanuel, Greg Sheehan, Rod McCormack, Gina Jeffries and many more! Inspired by the greats, Midnight Chicken are sure to please any crowd.

Emotional and witty, Kay is a Wollongong raised indie-folk singer-songwriter with a remarkably agile, engaging, honest, soul-bearing voice and a wry, dry-ice sense of humour. With a live performance style that is much like being invited into her lounge room, her songs are truly stories set to melody, by turns relatable, humorous and heartbreaking. Creating an intimacy between audience and performer through vulnerability, Kay's live show is likely to leave you wondering whether all of her songs are about you. Kay has been working as a professional musician for over 10 years, performing within the live music industry, television and theatre...
