Midsummer Seva Retreat Volunteer Event

There’s no time like midsummer at the Ashram. The streams are cool, the gardens are abundant, and the land calls for care. Join us for two days of selfless service and Yogic living as we work together to steward this sacred ground—right as Guru Purnima unfolds.

This Seva gathering takes place on Guru Purnima itself and continues into our official festival weekend—a traditional time to honor the Guru and the sacred teacher–student relationship. You’re welcome to join just for the service days or stay on for the full four-day observance, from Thursday’s sacred day through Sunday’s celebrations.

We’ll focus on maintaining and improving the Ashram’s pradakshina meditation trails—pathways walked daily by Baba and Amma—deepen the bathing pools in the mountain stream (a perfect refreshment after a hot day’s work!), tend midsummer gardens, and tackle seasonal projects: deck repairs, landscaping, window replacements, and more.

Summer is short in Maine, and we move with purpose. You’ll experience the true rhythm of Ashram life—work, practice, meals, and rest—alongside fellow Yogis dedicated to benefit for all beings.
