Event description

Rotary Elizabeth Quay and ISHAR are partnered to support migrants through conversational english and employability skills and in the Mirrabooka area.

About this event

Rotary of Elizabeth Quay (REQ) is a service organisation consisting of volunteers focused on our mission of facilitating generosity in the Perth and wider community for over 4 years. We are now collaborating with ISHAR to help upskill migrants and refugees from countries including Syria and Afghanistan with communication and employability skills.


What's our Project Mission and how will we achieve it?

Mission - To help upskill approximatley 30 migrants through conversational English and employability skills.

How? - Through 2 workshops consisting of 2 hours each on Saturday 24th July  (aimed at conversational English with volunteer mentors) and Saturday 28th August (employability skills and training course )

1) Donate at checkout to help us reduce the costs of the event

2) Register as an event volunteer!

  1. Volunteer Mentor - Be available to have amiable conversation with a few migrants and lend a listening ear to hear their stories on Saturday 24th July.
  2. In order to participate, be available for virtual Cross-Cultural training on Wednesday 14th from 7pm-8pm. There are limited places available. Expect confirmation of your Volunteer mentor role and mandatory Cross Cultural training by 11th July by email.  
  3. Volunteer Child Supervisor - Possess a current workng with children check and ideally experience looking after young children. In order to participate, in the workshops on 24th July and 28th August
