We’re kicking off 2025 with an exciting Migrants in Tech Auckland Meet-Up on Tuesday, 27th February, 6pm at GridAKL/John Lysaght – and this time, we’re talking entrepreneurship!
Finding work in Auckland’s tech scene can be tough, and for many, entrepreneurship has been a powerful way to create opportunities and build something sustainable. At this event, we’ll hear from inspiring founders who have navigated different paths into tech and business.
Our Speakers:
🎤 Mitch Hazelhurst – Tech recruiter and founder of RocketTags, and his new venture DevMatch, which is helping developers gain real-world experience. He’ll share insights on breaking into tech and key recruitment tips to land your next role.
🎤 Niloofar Aflaki – Founder of Rostiny, a privacy-first childcare management platform, leveraging AI to streamline operations and ensure data security. She’ll share insights on building a scalable tech startup and solving industry challenges with AI.
🎤 Tom Wu – Founder of GoBear.me, an AI-driven job search platform that helps candidates find their ideal roles faster. He’ll share how technology is transforming job hunting and how to stand out in today’s market.
🎤 Angelica is the founder of Ceratec Health, the world's first diabetes screening and accident prevention AI. Angelica recently won the National HealthTech Challenge and will share her journey into business as a 2nd Gen Migrant and how to find career-transforming opportunities.
