Event description

As part of PayPal Melbourne Fashion Festival’s Fashion Culture Program and as a continuation of our immersive autumnal journal of mycology and the magic of the fungi world, MIKÕKO is a cross disciplinary, immersive experience that integrates fashion, sight, sound and taste as a fully sensory exploration of the natural world. In partnership with slave-free certified, Samoan indigenous owned, Cacao Culitvators and Creators Living Koko, local stylist and art director Studio FEAR, emerging sculpture artist Peleti, long time collaborator and co-founding projectionist Simbiotic Vision, and a host of highly skilled fashion, music and contemporary movement artists, MIKÕKO will be a multisensorial immersion into the plant world through the lens of koko and fungi. The evening will feature a sonic immersion Naarm-based vocalist Ayesha Mehta and music producer Mackavelli to which all models and movement artists will travel within.

Featuring a collection of koko dyed garments created in house by our label, "Koko KalaPu” a non alcoholic koko bar of cacao beer, drinking cacao, cacao mocktails, teas and beverages operated by Living Koko, and a well curated collaboration of installation, movement, sight and sound, the production will bear reverence to the importance of natural life cycles and truly listening to the unique voice of our precious Earth.
