The new Milldale bridge, an extension of John Fair Drive, running over SH1 just north of Silverdale is a current infrastructure project of HEB’s. At almost 100m long and 19m wide the new three span bridge will provide an important connection between Milldale, Highgate Business Park and Silverdale. The bridge consists of 204 precast concrete panels have all been fitted on the structural steel frame that was installed at the end of 2023. Prestressed concrete panels form the lower half of the road, while the upper half of the road will be constructed with in-situ reinforcing and concrete. The project is at about 80% completion which will make for a great site tour.
