Million Metres Planting Day – Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland

Help take care of New Zealand’s waterways! Million Metres is thrilled to invite you along to a planting day at Matuku Link co-hosted with our Foundation Partner, Alsco.
Grab your gumboots and enjoy a morning out in nature helping restore this beautiful wetland.
We’ll be getting stuck in planting, weeding and learning more about the amazing work that Matuku Link is doing to this restore native habitat that links untouched kauri forest, a river valley, wetlands and the sea. Your contribution will help make a real difference – thank you!
Please arrive from 9.15am. Planting will begin at 10.00am sharp and wrap up at 1.00pm. There will be a shared barbeque provided by Alsco from 1.00-2.00 pm.

**Carpooling is encouraged as there is limited carparking space onsite.
***Please be advised the rain date for this planting day is Sunday 8th August. In the event we need to move to the rain date, we will contact you to let you know.
What to bring and wear
- Please wear sturdy shoes, long sleeves and long pants.
- Bring warm layers, a hat, a raincoat.
- Due to kauri dieback, spades and gardening gloves will be provided for you. Please make sure your boots are clean before arrival!
- Bring along a keep cup and a full water bottle.
