Mind-Life Workshop Rockhampton

This event has passed Register

Event description

Mind-Life challenges us to Live Different, Think Different and Be Different outside the perceived limitations cause by the symptoms of mental illness. This is a wicked problem that has attracted many to want to solve. It requires brave and fearless thinking that can create new ways of living and being. Mind-Life’s main assumption is that an inability to live and lead a full life is not necessarily or simply because of the symptoms of mental illness, but much more from the reduced opportunities to exercise our human rights and live extraordinary lives.

Through Mind-Life’s human-centred design processes, a series of resources have been developed that provide practical tools for both help seekers and help providers to navigate the common pitfalls that can be experienced in seeking and providing help. This is a fun, practical and interactive workshop that will familiarise you with these resources and their application.

By the end of this workshop participants will be able to:

1. Identify the pitfalls in accessing and providing help
2. Discuss the importance of the Mind-Life mindsets to their own life/ practice
3. Identify their own rules of engagement for when seeking help
4. Determine the real problem they are seeking help with
5. Request specific help from help provider using a help seeking request card
6. Determine the qualities they desire in a Mind - Life help provider
7. Identify the range of help providers they need and the specific requests they have of them for their Mind Life.
8. Provide specific feedback when a help provider has been helpful to their Mind Life
