Mindful Art - 5 weekly classes (no class Melbourne Cup Day)

Mindfulness is the practice of bringing awareness to the present moment with an attitude of non-judgment and acceptance to promote health and wellness and reduce stress and anxiety.

Mindfulness-based art focuses on the process of creativity rather than the final product. Artist Noni Drew invites participants to make art in a non-judgemental way allowing students to focus on the joy of creativity, to express and explore emotions and achieve a meditative state of flow. Through this process, students increase their self-awareness and sensory regulation and learn to observe their thoughts, feelings and physical sensations without judgment.

This five-week course will integrate a mindfulness focused activity or meditation with a prompted art making session using a range of expressive materials and media including clay, printing, textiles, collage, and paint.

Students will be supplied with a personal visual journal and encouraged to document their experiences throughout the course.

Noni is a practicing artist and has a Master of Contemporary Art from the Victorian College of the Arts, University of Melbourne and is currently undertaking a Master of Art Therapy at La Trobe University.

Important information

This workshop is suitable for adults only. Our facility is wheelchair friendly, if you have any access concerns please let us know. Street parking is available along Avoca Street.

Cancellation and Refunds 

Bayley Arts reserves the right to cancel this class if it does not reach the minimum number of students or the class facilitator falls ill. If Bayley Arts cancels this class you are entitled to a full refund.

If you are no longer able to attend, you’re welcome to send someone in your place

A credit note can be requested 7 days before the class starts.
No changes will be allowed after these times.
