An introduction to the world of abstract illustration (or Doodles) as a gateway to relaxation, meditation and mindfulness.

This highly addictive art form is easy, fun & portable and anyone can do it, no artistic talent needed, all you need is a desire to try something new and fun.

Side effects can be – Outbursts of spontaneous creativity with associated smiling, growing sense of tranquillity and a burgeoning passion for fine pens and papers!

What will we cover?

Be guided through the creation of various patterns and begin your journey to developing your own “pattern vocabulary” that can then utilise to create your own mini works of art and your own meditation escape in this hectic world, that will to help you achieve that wonderful Zen like meditation state which aside from its sheer enjoy-ability, is so beneficial to both your mental and physical wellbeing.

Artist Marloes Bakker-Marsden teaches a variety of mediums at community centres, retirement communities and other locations, including in her own studio space, sharing her skills and passions with others in a light hearted and fun way that makes the experience totally enjoyable and rewarding for everyone involved. If you can't afford our classes but would still love to come, we would still love for you to come too! We are a not-for-profit community organisation and having you at our classes is what matters. We have introduced three different prices for our regular evening classes: $14 that covers all costs, $9 sponsored tickets for those struggling and $18 'pay it forward' tickets. If you can afford it please select the full price or pay it forward so we can continue sponsoring others who can't.

This class is delivered online via ZOOM:

ZOOM is free to install on your Windows or Mac computer and also available as an app for your mobile/tablet device.
You will need either the meeting link or both the meeting ID plus password. You don't need to create an account to attend a meeting!
If you are new to ZOOM please ensure you have downloaded and installed it in advance of the class.
