Mindful Makers One Day Retreat
Event description
Join us for our signature one day retreat set in beautiful surroundings to help you turn down the noise, shake up the mundane and switch off from the busy-ness of life.
Over the course of our day together, you will be guided by your host Ais, and with the help of our talented guest facilitator Niamh Cleary (Cre Ceramics) to reflect, reset, learn something new, have some fun, and prioritise you.
The wonderful Niamh will expertly guide you through the slow, mindful process of ceramics and you’ll also walk away with 2-3 of your own beautiful pieces to take home with you.
It’s time to Unplug from the chaos that modern living throws our way, and make a slower, more balanced and meaningful way of living the rule, rather than the exception.
It’s time to join our one-day retreat.

LOCATION
Desa retreat is an incredible retreat space based in Jan Juc, right on the scenic Surf-Coast of Victoria - a 120 min drive from Melbourne.
It was created from a vision where people could come to separate themselves from their lives to gain a different perspective. That’s the essence of what this very special property has created, and with it’s own home-grown veggies and private studio, is a space unlike any other.
A space to connect with a more natural, slower and of-the-land style way of living. A space, just for you.
The surrounding area of the magical Surf-Coast also offers plenty of opportunities for exploration and relaxation if you wish, the ideal base from which to explore the Great Ocean Road, you’ll find many things to do nearby:
Walk to the stunning beaches of Jan Juc and Torquay
Walk the clifftop track
Explore the bush
Surf iconic breaks, Winki and Bells
Or simply sit and watch the view from one of the many lookouts dotted along the beautiful coastline

AIS QUIGLEY
Meditation & Mindfulness Facilitator
Mindfulness and meditation facilitator, Aisling Quigley empowers others to connect and live well through her corporate workshops, sold-out retreats, online programs and community initiative, The Sunrise Collective.
Also working with world-leading brands like Kmart, Bunnings & Cystic Fibrosis Australia, Ais shares evidence-based tools, practices, and concepts to help people find connection and community and transform their lives and wellbeing in meaningful, tangible ways.
A typical A-type go-getter in the marketing and media rat race for fifteen years, Ais had been working through the night one night when she found her face pressed to the bathroom floor, having a massive panic attack which led her on her own transformational journey, back to herself.
Ais’ mission today is to help workplaces and individuals to navigate the demands of daily life and work, build resilience and connection, and create balanced, meaningful, and fulfilling working and personal lives.
NIAMH CLEARY
Founder - Cre Ceramics
Niamh first experimented with ceramics in 2009 whilst studying at the National College of Art and Design in Dublin, Ireland. While teaching art in London she also delved into courses in ceramics and began working on her craft.
An inflection point for Niamh’s journey was attending a ceramic workshop in Jingdezhen, the “Porcelain Capital of the World” in southern China in 2016, which brought about renewed interest and appreciation for the age-old art form. Niamh has swapped the school classroom for the studio, focusing full-time on sharing her knowledge and skills in ceramics alongside building her own practice.
Teaching students ceramics since the pandemic has opened her eyes to the huge benefits of working with clay to help reduce stress and a busy mind. For her, ceramics can feel a bit like the end of a yoga session - you will always feel more relaxed and a sense of calm after being in the flow and exploring your creativity.
