    Event description

Life as a parent is fast-paced and often requires you to plan and be two (or three…) steps ahead. This can make it hard to take in and enjoy the present moment for what it is. It can also easily result in worry and anxiety about the future.

Mindfulness consistently proves effective to mitigate vulnerability to anxiety and depression symptoms, particularly in parenthood. Don’t miss the moments that matter. Join us to learn practical skills to ground yourself and enjoy one of life’s greatest gifts - the present moment with your little one.

Topics that will be covered during this workshop:

    • What is mindfulness?

    • Identifying and creating opportunities to practise being fully present in the moment with your child

    • Breathwork

    • Practical skills to ground yourself and tolerate stress and uncomfortable emotions

This workshop will be presented by Elsabé le Roux, registered Clinical Psychologist in Tauranga. As a mother of two, one of her professional interests include maternal and infant mental health. She is a registered member of Infant Mental Health Association Aotearoa New Zealand (IMHAANZ).

This event will be held in the Upper Room above the cafe. Children who are not yet mobile are most welcome. Attendees will have access to a parent room downstairs for changing if necessary. Attendees are welcome to buy beverages and/or morning tea from the cafe during a short break.
