    Event description

Studio Rūma and Holistic Humanity are excited to announce an upcoming workshop for Youth Week, aimed at teaching young adults how to create mandala art as a mindfulness meditation practice for nurturing yourself.

Hosted by holistic educator and founder of Holistic Humanity, Becki Patterson, this free art class is recommended for ages 12 - 24 and will be a great opportunity for young people to learn new skills, meet new friends, and explore their creative side.

With limited spaces available, this workshop promises to be an intimate and engaging experience, as Becki shares her passion for hands on, creative strategies which promote positive wellbeing. This experience  encourages the use of art as therapy and a way to connect with others.

So, if you know a young person who is looking to explore their creative side, sign up for this free workshop today and join us in celebrating the youth of our community!

    ABOUT THE WORKSHOP:

    ✨Magic, meditative mindfulness with mandalas✨

You will be guided through the creation process of using watercolour paints and fineliner pens to produce a beautiful piece of circle art. This process is also infused with the magic of your chosen intention to inspire you every time you see your art!

We will learn some painting and drawing techniques while enjoying a fun, relaxing and mindful experience together. On top of this we will chat about the power of positive affirmations and learn how to create our very own; to support us in navigating the highs and lows of life.

This workshop is full to the brim with value- enjoying the experience on the day AND equipping you with these powerful tools to utilise over and over at home too!

    ABOUT YOUTH WEEK:

Youth Week aims to amplify young people’s valuable contributions to their communities by supporting them to design, deliver and evaluate all aspects of the week. We want Aotearoa to be a country where young people are vibrant and optimistic and are supported and encouraged to take up challenges. Events are designed to encourage young people to take on challenges, share ideas and focus on the positive aspects of being young. The week also recognises the youth workers, youth service providers and others working with and for young people.
