Frequently Asked Questions
Can I bring my baby or kids along?
To help create a calm and connected space just for mums, this walk is a child-free event. We know it can be tricky to carve out that time, but we’ve designed this experience as a true pause - for you to focus on yourself without distractions.
However, if you are the mum of a newborn baby (up to 6 months), please get in touch as there may be ways, that we can accommodate a child of such a young age.
How difficult is the walk? Do I need to be super fit?
The Zamia Trail is rated as a moderate bushwalking trail. It includes a few short but steady inclines, some uneven surfaces, and sections with loose gravel. While the track is well-marked and not technical, it’s not a flat stroll either.
You’ll need to be able to walk 6.5km over 2 hours, with a couple of breaks. A moderate level of fitness and confidence walking on natural terrain is recommended. If you’re used to walking regularly - especially on bush paths or hilly suburbs - you’ll likely find it manageable.
We’ll take it slow, and there’s no rush, but we do ask that you come prepared for a proper bushwalk - not a gentle park walk.
I walked the track recently and while I did get a bit 'huffy puffy' at some points, it was not too challenging.
Can I come alone? I’m nervous about not knowing anyone.
Absolutely - and you won’t be the only one. This event is all about creating a welcoming, low-pressure space where it’s easy to connect. You’ll receive gentle conversation prompts, and we encourage everyone to walk in pairs or small groups at times so no one feels left out.
What if it rains?
We’ll still walk in light rain - it can be quite beautiful! Just bring a rain jacket or umbrella. If the weather is severe or unsafe, we’ll reschedule or offer a credit/refund. You’ll receive a weather update the day before.
Can I bring a friend who isn’t a mum?
This event is designed specifically with mums in mind, so all conversation and practices are centred around motherhood. If your friend is a mum (of any age or stage), she’s warmly welcome! For other walks or events in the future, we may open it up more broadly.
What kind of snacks are provided - and can I let you know about allergies?
Yes, please do! Light, nourishing snacks will be provided at rest points (think fruit, trail mix, and baked treats). If you have any dietary requirements or allergies, just reply to your confirmation email or get in touch by Wednesday, 16 May so we can take care of you.
I have other questions, can you answer them?
Of course! Simply send me an email at nina@mindfulparentinglifestyle.com.au and I will reply within 1 or 2 business days.
