Mindful Stitching: Crafting Calm and Connection
Description
Crafting Calm: Discover Mindfulness Through Yarn Craft
Unwind, connect, and discover how the simple rhythm of knitting and crochet can become a powerful tool for your mental wellbeing.
Whether you are a seasoned crafter, just starting out or simply looking to unwind, this gentle, hands-on workshop explores how yarn craft supports emotional resilience and stress relief.
Together, we will dive into how creative rhythm, texture, and colour can promote everyday mindfulness and help you quiet a busy mind.
What You Will Experience
During this relaxed 90-minute session, you will guide your mind into a state of calm through structured, meaningful activities:
Mindful Stitching: Guided practice incorporating breathing and awareness prompts to help you approach your craft mindfully, and flow.
Yarn Therapy Conversations: A cosy, informal group discussion while we stitch, exploring light prompts to craft with gratitude and intention.
Crafting Resilience: A reflective chat drawing parallels between yarn craft and life—finding lessons in patience, untangling mistakes, and celebrating growth.
Takeaway Tools: You will leave with fresh mindfulness techniques and a resource sheet to support your ongoing wellbeing journey.
Who It Is For
This workshop is designed for adults and older teens (young adults) who love yarn crafts—such as crochet and knitting—and want to learn how to embrace this hobby as a therapeutic and mindfulness practice. All levels of experience welcome.
