Learn to weave mindfully making a beautiful piece of woven art, vessel or a basket. Whether you think you are creative or not!
Utilising found & recycled materials create a unique basket to take home whilst being guided through the skills you need to complete a basket. Weaving and basket making is a wonderfully restorative and meditative practice. Once you know how you can weave and create from all kinds of materials.
Be inspired by nature and what we have available at our finger tips using resources that are found, recycled and repurposed. Mindfully connecting in a way that is grounding, allowing you to feel calm, connected and mindful of your own presence in this beautiful location at Karkoo nursery. In this workshop you will learn mindful skills to rest, reflect and create peace in a community setting. An opportunity to connect with others and make meaningful connections. This is a family friendly event, the skills are accessible for all ages.
Karkoo Nursery is located in the idyllic Adelaide Hills, and has a cafe, nursery and giftware store. Spend a day exploring the vast garden centre set n the historic Johnston Brewery site, filled with indoor and outdoor plants, pots, garden art, homewares, fashion and more! While you're here grab a drink and bite to eat from their licensed Garden Cafe. So come and join the workshop and make a day of your visit to Oakbank.
The workshop includes:
- instructional skill sharing session.
- all materials you need to complete your project and some tips about what materials you can use or basket making
- a take home a meditative mindfulness recording.
- printed instruction package to continue your project at home.
All in a hand made bag to take and continue your basket making journey.
Join for one session in Nature Festival and leave the workshop with all the skills and materials you need to mindfully create a basket yourself!
There are four opportunities to join this workshop in Nature Festival:
10am - 1pm Sunday 6th of October

1pm - 4pm Sunday 13th of October
Sessions are 3 hours long and include skill sharing workshop, meditation and one-on-one assistance while you get started with your project. You are welcome to depart early or grab a coffee from the cafe once you have started your project and away and weaving - you will have everything you need to continue your project at home!
Tickets are $60 and are all inclusive.
