Mindfulness Meditation and Journaling
Event description
WHY MEDITATE?
Mindfulness meditation fosters greater equanimity (steadiness through the highs and lows of life), self-compassion and present moment awareness. Journalling helps us cultivate greater self-awareness and move towards consciously creating the life we want. A growing body of evidence shows mindfulness meditation reduces stress, and improves mental health and emotional regulation. It can help manage anxiety, depression and chronic pain conditions, and even enhances cognitive functions like attention, focus and memory.
Meditating in a group setting can be extremely powerful and engaging. This weekly mindfulness and journaling event is open to anyone, whether you're a seasoned Yogi or totally new to meditation and mindfulness practice.
WHAT TO EXPECT:
Expect to feel more spacious, grounded and in-tune with your heart, mind and body. Expect greater inner peace, joy and self-acceptance with an ongoing regular practice.
The session will last 75 mins and will usually involve 2 x 20 minute guided meditation practices and some targeted journal questions for 15-20 minutes. Each session will involve a slightly different theme and type of practice, however there is plenty of repetition and all practice builds on the same goals/skills.
WHAT TO BRING:
Journal and pen. (Don’t sweat it if you forget, I will always have spare).
